Find Military College Grants

Many men and women who volunteer to protect and serve their country put themselves in danger on a daily basis to protect the interests and freedoms of their home country. As a reward for their service, military personnel can take advantage of many programs designed to help them along in their education. Currently enlisted members of the military and their family can find funding through grants for technical and degree programs that can help them get ahead during and after their service.

Grants are available to all branches of the United States military from the Army to the Coast Guard. A majority of grants are only available to those actively serving in the military and for a limited number of years after this service is over– usually around ten. Some programs for spouses and children will require them to demonstrate financial need due to low income or high tuition costs in order to be eligible to receive available funds.

The main source of military college grants is the military itself. All branches have programs set up to provide funding for service men and women who wish to pursue advanced education and their immediate family. Programs do differ in how they are administered however, and how much a student can expect to receive. Marines can get up to $2,000 depending on the type of degree they are pursuing while those in various divisions of the National Guard can get around $1,000 a year towards their educations.

Spouses and children of those enlisted in the military can also get a little grant help with programs through branches of the military. The Army has a Spouse Education Assistance Program and the Navy has a Spouse Tuition Aid Program which can help reduce the costly tuition bills of military spouses. Children can get funding through The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Program or through grants from the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program.
