Find Biology Scholarships
Biology is an ever-expanding field and the demand for new, qualified graduates is increasing as biological research in medicine, diseases, and genetics becomes a major industry with billions of dollars in profits each year. Students can take advantage of both the business side of biology as well as the chance to take part in new and exciting research by choosing to pursue a degree in the field. There are a myriad of scholarship options out there to help students looking to get into just about every type of biology.
Any student pursuing a degree in a biological science should be able to find scholarships that they qualify for both at the undergraduate and graduate level. Those who belong to an ethic or racial minority or female students may find that there are more scholarship programs offered to them in an attempt to increase the diversity of students working towards biology degrees and to give those that might have been traditionally underserved a chance to get ahead in a rewarding field. Students should expect to have to submit academic records in order to apply for many awards as a majority are based on academic achievement.
Scholarship programs are offered by a large number of corporations, professional associations, universities and private donors. Students will be able to work towards winning scholarships in diverse biological fields that cover everything from botany to wildlife conservation. Students can find support for their research from well-known agencies like the EPA which offers significant scholarships to students who are pursuing work in related fields or who have stood out academically.
Most recipients of biology scholarships will have a record of academic excellence and the potential to make an impact on whatever field they pursue. Factors like financial need are also taken into consideration and many awards are given to students who truly need help paying for school.
