The mission of Bellevue University is to give students a firm foundation in the fields of business, IT and the liberal arts, so that they can be successful and competitive in the real world. Courses are designed to give students skills that will help them not only succeed in their classrooms but in their careers as well, and to become responsible and motivated leaders both professionally and in their larger communities.

Bellevue University was named for its home city of Bellevue, Nebraska. The university was founded in 1965 by Bill Brooks along with the help of the local Chamber of Commerce, who hoped to offer more educational opportunities to the community. Today the school has locations throughout Nebraska and in Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri and Kansas. Students who cannot attend classes at any of these campus locations can opt for an online-based program instead to earn their undergraduate or graduate degree.

Bellevue University has a long history as a distance learning educational institution. Since 1996, the school has been offering online programs to students, making it one of the first to embrace this powerful new way of delivering educational content. Additionally, the school was one of the first to offer a program that allowed online students to work towards an MBA. With both experience and the courage to pursue new fields and options for students, Bellevue can be a great place for students to pursue an online education.

The online programs at Bellevue are based on a proprietary delivery system called Cyber Active Learning. This platform will give students easy access to tech support, faculty, classmates and course materials, as well as a calendar which they can personalize with assignment due dates. Faculty that teach online courses at Bellevue are specially trained to work in the virtual classroom and are required to undergo an intensive six-week program to ensure they are ready. Degree programs are available in a wide variety of fields, some of which include Advertising Management, Leadership and Criminal Justice Administration.
