Boston University’s mission is to create a diverse and unified campus that instills in its students a sense of community as well as a lifelong love of learning. The school is dedicated to improving and innovating its research programs so that students can receive a cutting-edge educational experience while attending the school.
In 1869, three Methodist businessmen put their minds together to establish what is now known as Boston University. The school was founded on the ideals that all people should have access to education, regardless of race or religion, and the school was one of the first to provide education to a wide variety of communities. Today the school has two locations in Boston and a variety of educational programs offered through universities around the globe.
Because of its dedication to diversity and ensuring that all students have access to education, the school has been the first to award many important degrees in its history. It is also home to illustrious alumni like Dr. Martin Luther King, who worked to ensure that others would have access to the same educational freedom in schools all across America. In addition to this inclusive history, the school is known as a research university, providing its students with many opportunities to work with the best of the best in their fields.
Luckily for those who do not live in the Boston area, the school has begun offering online degree programs in over 20 different majors. Students will work with qualified faculty through online programs that engage them in discussions and multimedia presentations. Students will be able to work towards their undergraduate or graduate degrees at their own pace and when it’s most convenient. Some of the fields offered include Criminal Justice, Music Education and Computer Information Systems.
