Cambridge College Program Review

Cambridge College’s mission is to provide all students, regardless of their financial or past educational experience with high quality education opportunities. Special attention is paid to those in the adult community who may be juggling work and personal commitments in addition to their education. Programs are designed to be collaborative and cost effective, and to serve a diverse student population.

John Bremer founded the college in 1971. It was originally known as the Institute of Open Education at Newton College of the Sacred Heart. Today the school boasts a much shorter name and a much larger student population. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the school specializes in adult and distance education programs. Students can take courses online or at campuses in California, Virginia, Massachusetts, Georgia, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

Working adults can find programs that are designed to meet their unique needs at Cambridge College. Classes are created to be taken asynchronously, allowing them to be completed within a given time frame at hours and in amounts that work best with a student’s schedule. This flexibility allows students who may otherwise be held back by full-time work and taking care of children to get the skills and education they need to further their careers and increase their earning potential.

Online coursework is available to distance learning students at any time of the day and all during the week to help meet the needs of those who can only work at night or on the weekends. Through interaction with faculty and classmates, students will work in a virtual classroom and online discussions to complete their coursework and gain the confidence and skills they’ll need to be successful in the workplace. Programs are offered at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and can be completed for degrees in everything from Management to Health Services.
