Concord Law School strives to provide students with flexible online law programs that enable them to earn their law degrees when and where it’s convenient for them. The school creates its coursework and degree programs with students whose work and family responsibilities or location make it difficult to attend traditional on-campus courses. The school wants to help students become highly motivated and qualified law professionals upon graduation.

Concord is based in Los Angeles, California, and since 2007 has been a division of Kaplan University. The school began offering its online law program in 1998 and has since helped thousands of students work towards their law degrees at times and in places that are most convenient to them. Since students are not required to attend on-campus courses, many find that the online format for the school is easier to keep up with especially when trying to balance work and family commitments.

Students enrolling with Concord Law School should be aware, however, that the American Bar Association does not grant accreditation to any online law school programs, and even students enrolled in brick and mortar schools are not allowed to take more than 12 credit hours of online courses. Because of this, students will be required to take a First Year Law Student Examination after they have completed their first year of study with the school. Once this is passed, students will be eligible to enroll in advanced law courses, and after the completion of the required courses they can take the Bar Exam.

Online degree programs with Concord are available at the J.D. and the abbreviated Executive J.D. levels. The programs are designed to take 4 and 3 years respectively, and students will receive course information and study materials over the Web and can ask questions to professors and work with other students, just like in a regular classroom. While completing their degrees, students may opt to take a number of specialized electives that cover topics like Equine Law, Contract Law, and Cyberlaw.
