Ambitious students who are intent on generating for themselves "a better career, a better life" can benefit from LA College’s award-winning faculty and experiential learning methods. The online environment gives busy students the opportunity to go back to school during their free time, and it also introduces new Web-based tools and technologies to students who may be unfamiliar with working with computers.
LA College was founded in 1981 in Los Angeles, CA, and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award diplomas, Associate’s degrees and Bachelor’s degrees. The school was approved by the California State Department of Education, Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Educational in 1982. Faculty members have real job experience and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills with their students.
LA College Online offers degrees in two principal areas of study: Business Management and Health Care Administration. The Business Management degree can be awarded at the Associate’s or Bachelor’s levels, and students can choose to concentrate in focus areas like e-Commerce, Accounting, Small Business Management, Graphic Application, and Computer Technology. Students learn business basics like entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and business law through hands-on projects. Over the course of the program, students develop their own business plan built on the skills and theories they learn in class.
Students in the Health Care Administration program can earn an Associate of Arts degree in general Health Care Administration or decide to pursue a concentration in Billing and Coding. The Bachelor’s degree can be earned as a general degree or with a concentration in Health Care Management Information Systems. The latter program usually lasts for 32 months, and students will participate in an internship program, learn how to communicate and analyze health care policy, and learn how to use the modern technology tools and resources found in health care environments.
