New Orleans’ Loyola University supports an online campus that offers quality graduate programs in Nursing. Students with past nursing experience can advance their careers by earning higher degrees and certification, which enables them to become eligible for bigger salaries, promotions, and increased responsibility and respect. Loyola University is closely affiliated with the Catholic Jesuits, which influences their teaching styles. Faculty and staff strive to develop students in their academics as well as in their self-growth and pre-professional training.
Loyola University is located in New Orleans, LA, near downtown and the French Quarter. The school was officially chartered in 1912 after the Jesuits in Louisiana consolidated two of their earliest schools, including the College of the Immaculate Conception. The main campus is located on St. Charles Avenue, but several other buildings, including the law library and law student housing, are located at another location nearby. Loyola University is the largest Catholic university in the southern U.S., and it is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the country.
Loyola University Online awards two degrees: an MSN - Healthcare Systems Management degree and an MSN Blend Program. The Healthcare Systems Management program is designed for Registered Nurses who hold BSNs. Upon completion of the program, these students will be eligible to work in a variety of healthcare environments and further their careers in the industry. The MSN Blend Program is for Registered Nurses who hold a non-nursing Bachelor’s degree. They will first take upper-division undergraduate courses which will prepare them for graduate-level Nursing study in the following areas: leadership, promotion, community and professional development.
Students in both programs will be instructed in course material that is approved by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Standards of Practice for Case Managers. The degrees are also accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
