Nova Southeastern University is the largest independent college and university in the southeast, and the sixth largest in the nation. Because of its size, Nova Southeastern serves its entire community with a variety of flexible academic programs, including traditional college academics, distance learning solutions, research projects and more. Nova Southeastern has a commitment to lifelong learning and creative intellectual freedom, and by connecting students, faculty and the outside community, the school has been able to inspire these values in others as well.

Established in 1964 as Nova University of Advanced Technology, NSU became known as Nova University, and in 1994 as Nova Southeastern University after a merger with Southeastern University of the Health Sciences. The school’s main campus is located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, serves approximately 26,000 students, making it the largest independent college and university in the southeast. Other centers and campuses are located around the state and around the world in places like Korea, the Caribbean, Greece, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. The school is accredited to award associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and first professional degrees to students, but it also provides family-oriented programs to the community, including parenting, preschool, primary, and secondary education programs.

Nova Southeastern supports 16 different colleges and schools, including the Center for Psychological Studies, College of Medical Sciences, Oceanographic Center, College of Pharmacy, Criminal Justice Institute, Fischler School of Education and Human Services, and Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, among others. Within these schools, students have access to countless academic opportunities that prepare them for successful careers in leading fields like health care, education, information technology and entrepreneurship.
