Ohio Christian University is an institution that is dedicated to the holistic development of students. Academic programs, extracurricular activities, campus ministry, and adult education solutions are designed to inspire students’ own self discovery, as well as the maturation of their leadership abilities, intellectual capacity, spiritual selves and community perspective. Ohio Christian University combines tradition with progression in each of its programs, valuing moral Christian principles and Biblically-based academics, as well as innovative teaching styles that challenge students and make education accessible.
Ohio Christian University was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Circeville, OH, approximately 30 miles from Columbus. Additional campuses serving adult students are offered at locations in Columbus, Dublin, and Lancaster, OH, as well as online. OCU is a small Christian university that serves around 400 traditional students and 150 students in adult and online education programs. The small student body results in small classes and individualized, student-focused attention. Ohio Christian University is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) of The Higher Learning Commission, Association for Biblical Higher Education, and Ohio Board of Regents.
Students at Ohio Christian University are immersed in quality education programs that combine practical skills, field-specific theories and applications, and Christian-centric values and perspective. Classes are taught with the understanding that students can directly apply the skills they learn in class to solving real-world problems and influencing global communities. Traditional undergraduate programs include Professional Studies, Music Education, Business Management, Christian Ministries, Church Music, Teacher Education, Psychology/Human Relations and Youth Ministries. Additional adult and online degrees offered include a Bachelor’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling.
Ohio Christian University’s emphasis on experiential learning and Bible-based study inspires students to become active, evangelical leaders in their professions and in their personal lives. Campus life opportunities help students practice these leadership abilities before entering the real world. From sports like volleyball, soccer and basketball to campus ministry organizations, student life at OCU extends learning to outside the classroom.
